World Yacht Duchess

If you ever wanted to view New York City from a different perspective, boat rides such as the World Yacht Duchess are the way to do it. Typically, the ride starts from the lower west side of Manhattan, travels south along the Hudson River, and then continues on to the East River. The Duchess turns around just passed the Manhattan Bridge in the lower east side of Manhattan (right about where I took this picture!) Along the journey, the boat and it's passengers pass by the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, and Manhattan Bridge. In my picture above, you can see the Manhattan Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge, and half of the New York City skyline.

The World Yacht Duchess ride I went on was a dinner cruise. This included dinner, music and dancing. It was so much fun and also very romantic! Nothing says romantic like cruising along the river at sunset.

For a photographers, boat rides like this are also a good idea. You will get unique views and angles of our very popular city. The boat takes you right under two bridges and you are provided with the perfect background of the twinkling lights from the buildings of NYC!

Enjoy,
Laura

Brooklyn Bridge Park

My two absolute favorite views to capture in my photographs are skylines and sunsets. As you can tell, New York City is my favorite city to capture. So here, at Brooklyn Bridge Park, I was submersed in my favorite scenery. This park instantaneously became a favorite of mine. Not much effort is needed to snap the perfect picture of New York City. The photo above was taken by me in the winter of 2012. In this picture, it appears as though the bridge is on fire, however it was only the remnants of the warm sun on this cool winter day, leading to hues of orange in blue in this New York sky.

Along with a nice view, this park has much to offer. There are many paths to ride or walk along, playgrounds and many fields to play on. Pictured above is Jane's carousel, which is opened for all to ride! There is much to see here and definitely many opportunities to take your favorite photographs!

Little Bay Park

Located in Queens, New York, Little Bay Park runs along the side of the East River.

Little Bay Park is a place where local residents take a break from the quick-paced city. Here you will find people walking, running, biking, and rollerblading along the pathway adjacent the water. There are also fields (used for athletics such as soccer, hockey, & baseball), drop-offs for kayaks, and rocks along the water where many set up their equipment to fish. Close by is Fort Totten and Clearview Park Golf Course.

All in all, Little Bay Park is an enjoyable place to go and wind down after a long day at work. If you are into landscape photography, like myself, it is also a place where you can snap a few good shots!
